It was Sunday, the middle of the long Memorial Day Weekend and the first hot day of the year— almost 90 degrees in Lafayette, IN—when Mark Dolfini started the first of the six hours he planned to stand at attention. "The first thing they ask about is their friends—the guys they were with." MaryAnn Phillips has seen thousands of soldiers going in and out of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) in Germany, which is the first place sick and injured soldiers are medevaced to for stabilization, before being sent on to the States.
