CommandPosts.com was launched October 5, 2010, by St. Martin’s Press, as a site for military history, current events, and fiction.

The interviews, excerpts, and original commentary come from a wide variety of authors and publishers. As Tor.com first wrote, “our philosophy is one of publisher agnosticism.”

Among the contributors, honored veterans, award-winning historians and bestselling novelists are all represented. Though their contributions vary, all of their works are in line with the Shakespeare phrase “What is Past is Prologue.” Non-fiction and fiction writers, covering the past, the present, and considering the future, use the past as a prologue to their current works.

It is the intention of CommandPosts.com to foster a community that will engage the audience and provide a location rich in rational discourse and commentary, and find creative ways to support the military community.
